Eugene

I’m leaving for Eugene, Oregon later today (probably around noon-ish). I’ll be back late Thursday. Just a heads up.

Grades (eep), and Mini-vacations.

eep, report cards arrived yesterday. However, for once I actually am semi-pleased about it. 3.975 for the term, and 3.613 overall. Of course they aren’t weighted for AP classes, or I expect they would be higher. I’m just happy that it raised from a 3.55 overall, a 3.6** looks much more respectible. 20th out of a class of 170. *shrugs*

Also, I’m going to Eugene next week sometime, I don’t know when I’m leaving yet, or when I’ll be back. Also, on the 4th of July, we’re probably going to my family’s outpost in Illwaco, by the ocean. That’s always a fun time. Just letting you all know.

Thursdays.

Ya know, I really don’t like Thursdays.

Summer Library Fun

So it’s thursday, I know. Suprisingly I lost track of what day of the week it was on, oh, about Monday. I’m also turning into a night creature (yes, I have been accused of being a vampire, which I must deny). Not that I have much of a problem with this though. Anyway, I was a morning person at one time, but I haven’t been for a couple years now.

And yes, I may possibly be volunteering at the library now. Mainly because it’s easy community service hours, and doesn’t involve manual labor. Of course, this year it’s way better, because of someone I managed to convince to work there too. Should be fun this summer. Yeah, I made a dragon mask there too, just letting everyone know about that.

Oh, also, in the images page I added a pinhole pictures part. These were just taken by a pinhole camera I made in Photography a while back. These are the three of the five that I like the most. Kinda abstract, perhaps, but I like them all the same.

It’s not that warm here right now, it was really hot a couple days ago, but luckily that seemed to be a freak occurance. But I started up running a few days a week in the morning again, so doing that before it gets scorching is a high priority. I also got a 1GB Ultra II Compact Flash card yesterday, I already love it with the camera I have now. So yeah, that’s about all for now.

Perchance to Dream…

Reflections and A Semi-blog Feature

You hold the answers deep within your own mind.
Consciously, you’ve forgotten it.
That’s the way the human mind works.
Whenever something is too unpleasant, to shameful for us
to entertain, we reject it.
We erase it from our memories.
But the imprint is always there.

But the imprint is always there. Nothing is ever really forgotten.

So yeah, that really applies to me. I’d say more, but I don’t really want to bore you with a rambling philosophical discussion that you probably don’t wish to hear, or read, for that matter. Perhaps I should go amble off to bed now, but I don’t seem to remember my dreams, so sleeping is rather boring for me. But then, if I don’t sleep, I’ll be rather moody for a while.

You know, Tuesday through Thursday last week were not the best days I’ve ever experienced, I managed to really piss off the person who I care about most, and truthfully, I deserved her wrath. I was being mean and I feel really bad. I think that we are back to normal now (or at least a semblance thereof). So if you’re reading this, and you know who you are, I’m just saying I’m sorry again, even though it’s rather superfluous now. You mean so much to me you don’t even know.

You know what, school is over until the fall now. And then I’m a senior, what a scary thought. And for some reason I’m taking AP literature with Ms. Lauritsen, I’m a idiot for doing that, I mean, she’s a good teacher and all, but it would be nice if she wouldn’t grade on whether or not you agreed with her on literary interpretations. But other then that, I’m guess that class won’t be that bad. Oh, and the AP Government, they decided that the class before school was a breech of some asinine union rules and they can’t allow it. So instead it’s 3 days a week during 1st period both terms. And right before I found out about that I was offered the Video Productions TA (Teachers Aide or Technology Assistant, depending on your interpretation). So first term I will do the gov’t class three times a week, and the TA twice a week, which is cool, because I’ve always wanted to do stuff with video editing, equipment and such. Second term is independent study with that gov’t class, the actual AP test should be a relative breeze.

Speaking of classes and schools, college selection is coming up. The University of Washington is my first choice (for many reasons, prestige, family connections, the fact we’re dumping money into the Tyee association…), and Washington State University is my second option. I’m leaning towards a Major in Political Science and a minor in American History, but those are a little flexible, the subject area is the same though. After getting the undergraduate degree, I’ll apply for admission to the UW School of Law, where I will focus on Corporate Law. Say what you will, but I really do enjoy these areas of study, believe it or not.

I dunno what else to write about now, so I will bid you adieu with this phrase to chew your respective udders on, “Deus Ex Machina,” or “God Comes from the Machine.” Rather interesting quote, I think. I particularly enjoy working it into everyday conversation. Wow, I am really rambling on tonight.

Debian and School Ending

School is running out of time for me. Only one more day until I’m a senior. Wow, I know, this year has flown by. I like to think that I matured so much lately, and learned not only facts, but how to treat others a little better. Is the gamut over? Only time will tell.

In other news, I finally got around to installing Linux (Specifically, Debian 3.1 “Sarge”). You won’t be able to tell I’m using it, as GAIM, Firefox, and other programs run using it. So really, only I’ll be able to tell a change. Of course, I can and will use Windows often. That’s about it for now.
